We are pleased to announce that we will be exhibiting at LeadsCon in Las Vegas ! This exciting event will take place from February 23-24, 2010 at the Mirage Hotel and Casino. Not only will the conference be in an exhilarating (and slightly crazy) environment, but LeadsCon will also offer access to the top dogs in the lead generation space. Facebook, Wells Fargo, and The Washington Post are a few of the notable companies that will be present. Four thousand affiliate marketers, one Las Vegas hotel, three days. The numbers alone are a little bit intimidating, yet the Blue Phoenix Media team just got back from the conference; and we’re here to tell the tale of one of the most successful Affiliate Summit’s to date. In this case, what happened in Vegas is getting documented on the BPM blog.

The conference started on Saturday, January 16th, but the party really got started at the meat market on Sunday. The BPM table was one of the most visited all day (it helped that we were next to a big screen TV playing the Jets – Chargers game). Some more numbers to describe the meat market: 4 BPM team members, 1 table, 6 hours of talking = 4 lost voices. We met some great people and look forward to working with a lot of them.

After closing down the meat market, we rushed to get ready for dinner, and the affiliate summit tip off party, co-sponsored by who else? Blue Phoenix Media of course. The party, at the hardwood suite in the palms, was a hit, with 700 people in attendance before we closed the doors.

After the party, it was time to get down to business. Monday and Tuesday brought meetings, lots of meetings. We’ve put many names to faces and started building some lasting relationships. And if we weren’t starting a new relationship, we were catching up with some of the individuals and companies we’ve been working with for years.

Due to what I am told was relatively sparse attendance last year, many people involved in affiliate marketing dragged their feet buying passes to Affiliate Summit West this year. These people were very surprised to find that the event was not only going to be pretty well attended, but that it was even sold out well in advance. I have had no fewer than eight people (some to whom I had spoken, and others to whom I hadn’t) email or call me out of the blue asking if I had extra passes.

I’m not sure that this means what I hope it means: that the economy is actually on its way back to a full recovery. I feel confident, however, in the idea that performance-based marketing is really recovering from the global recession faster than traditional advertising and most other industries.

In any event, there has been a lot of buzz in the industry about Affiliate Summit West. Some of what you’ll hear and read is in anticipation of the parties. Most, though, is in anticipation of reconnecting with former clients, vendors and colleagues in a much more certain and positive commercial climate.

The Affiliate Convention, known for its platform for idea sharing and business building, will be held next week in Los Angeles from December 3rd-4th and our CEO Amy Sheridan will be there. Aside from all affiliates given free admission, they are provided with two full days of training, exhibiting and networking. Some of the many speakers include Marshall Simmonds, Chief Search Strategist of New York Times, Dush Ramachandran, VP of Click Bank and the CEO of Site Tuners, Tim Ash. As we can’t name all of the topics covered, we’ll tell you that some of them are The State of Search, Niche Markets (Dating and Travel), Mobile Marketing and SEO for Affiliates. Over 1,000 affiliates, 84% of this year’s delegates, will be in attendance and we definitely look forward to the possible business opportunities and relationships that will be formed next week.

This year’s show was filled with new and old companies that are on pathways to taking the online marketing world by storm but the most notorious of them all was of course, Blue Phoenix Media. Our booth, which was situated on the first floor of the ever so spacious Jacob Javits Center, was constantly surrounded by lines of people waiting to meet with our team .

Aside from that, there was great interest in our web properties from both the publisher and advertiser’s standpoints. Numerous of publishers asked us about our exclusive deals that they can’t get from anyone else in this industry, our ability to directly work with them and our capability to give direct feedback. We got the opportunity to speak with countless advertisers about how we will build more direct relationships and score more quality leads for them. Many showed interest in our Biz-Op and Education offers which include CollegeConduit.com, MakeGoogleBucks.com, Strayer University and Kaplan University to name a few. Ad:Tech truly gave publishers and advertisers the platform to learn about the many facets of Blue Phoenix Media such as our diligent staff, proprietary lead generation technology and our web properties that we built and operate ourselves which, in turn, generate better lead and quality control for our advertisers.

How dare us discuss Ad:Tech without mentioning the parties! On Tuesday night we got down with our bad selves at the No Bull event at Johnny Utahs. No bull riding for us but the party was great. On Wednesday night we attended the Gevalia cocktail party at The Gates and the truffle pizza was out of this world. We went straight from the Gevalia party to the Money Maker party at Club Pacha and Slick Rick was…. *crickets*. Huge thanks to Infinite Traffic for sharing their VIP with us!

This year’s Ad:Tech NY event truly was a success for Blue Phoenix Media. It only makes us look forward to the upcoming Affiliate Summit West in Las Vegas even more. August started out extremely busy and Affiliate Summit East was the perfect beginning to a successful month for Blue Phoenix Media! Affiliate Summit was from August 9th-11th and was in our home base New York City, allowing us to exhibit in full force. The estimated 2,500 expected to attend the show was doubled to over 4,000 attendees, making the show a success for everyone!

The show started with the Meet Market on Sunday, which included a frenzy of eager affiliates and merchants ready to do business. We had a great spot between the entrance and the escalators to the 2nd floor, so no one got through the show without seeing us first. Crowds swooned around our table to find out what Blue Phoenix Media has to offer. There was no time for a break as prospects approached us to the very end of the show. The first day went off without a hitch!

On Monday, the Exhibit Hall event had attendees slipping in long before 10am. Being in the 1st aisle of the 1st floor, again, allowed no one to lose sight of Blue Phoenix Media. Lines formed around our booth from the start, barely allowing anyone to pass through. We were equipped with a full staff from C-Level Executives to well trained Affiliate Mangers, allowing us to serve everyone’s needs at the show. The night ended with our sponsored party with Headlines & Heroes at The Bottom Line at Touch. We celebrated the show’s success in our VIP booth and jammed with Biz Markie who sang his hit ‘You Got What I Need’ inches away from us! Many of our partners came by to celebrate with us and the night closed with a bang.

Tuesday’s expected turnout was pretty decent, considering many attendees may have been curing hangovers. Lines still surrounded our booth and people eagerly waited to find out more about Blue Phoenix. We even had traveling publicity as visitors from the previous days walked around wearing our shirts! The show remained busy to the end and we left with a plethora of new business to pursue!

We are excited that Affiliate Summit East 2009 is coming to our hometown, New York City, August 9th-11th! Of course we will be exhibiting at the event for both the Meet Market on Sunday and the Exhibition event on Monday and Tuesday. For those who don’t know, Affiliate Summit is one of the best industry affiliate marketing conferences that gives affiliates the opportunity to meet with affiliate managers and merchants in person.
