Dear Mr/Ms. Affiliate,

I find it puzzling that once you have been approved to be a part of our network, you all of a sudden mysteriously become unreachable. My emails go unanswered and my calls are almost guaranteed to go straight to voicemail. I understand that for the most part networks are self-service and that you don’t really need anyone to tell you how to pick up offers for the umpteenth time. But believe it or not, I am not calling you to tell you something you already know.

The reason I call is because I want to work with you in figuring out how I can make it easy for you to generate substantial revenue with our network. I can tell you details about an offer that’s not written in the campaign description – like how one offer performs when promoted via search versus email or which creative is performing the best. I can tell you the brand newest offers on the network before they even go out on the affiliate newsletter, where everyone will see them and will want to pick them up.

Heck, I’ll even go so far as to cater our calls so that if you tell me you only want to hear about diet offers, you won’t hear anything but diet offers. Every now and then though, I will be brazen and tip you off that an education or financial offer or some other vertical is performing extremely well and worth looking into. Rest assured, I only do this with your best interest in mind.

I wish I could say that one phone call translates into dollars, but sometimes it takes several phone calls and even more phone calls and a few emails back and forth to get you paired with the right offer. This is why I call you more than once – not to annoy you, but to figure out which offer you can work your skills on (within compliance guidelines, of course!) to take you into super affiliate status.

So the next time you see my number pop up on your caller ID, give me a chance and pick up the phone. It could be the 5 minute conversation that changes where the commas fall on your affiliate check when affiliate pay day rolls around.

Sincerely,
Your Affiliate Manager

Economic downturn has caused employed and unemployed consumers to voluntarily purchase benefits and insurance such as Health, Life, Long Term Care and 401K plans from other vendors. Online Insurance campaigns have increased in the Performance Marketing space this year and have been profitable for Affiliate Marketers due to this high demand. The demographics of these consumers include 40+, Diabetics, AARP Members and Wheelchair consumers.

Thanks to the recession there have been increases in benefit costs to employers, which in turn affect employees. Employers either cut back on the benefits or require employers to pay higher premiums. According to Guardian Life Insurance, “nearly one-third of workers think it is more expensive to obtain healthcare coverage at work than it is to buy coverage on their own.[i]” The people most affected by benefit changes-Blue-collar employees- “value disability, life insurance and retirement benefits more than do professional/managerial and clerical employees.[ii]” This explains the increase search for outside sources in the insurance/benefit market.

Affiliate marketers may not expect baby boomers to be a target audience online but according to MetLife Mature Market Institute, baby boomers have invested in accessing information on the web and using social media to build support systems for their current needs and interests in such areas as politics, health care and employment opportunities.[iii] This is why there are now a number of Life Insurance, Long Term Care and Disability campaigns infiltrating the Internet Marketing space.

In light of this new demand from consumers, Blue Phoenix Media recently launched some exclusive campaigns in the insurance/benefit vertical for our CPA network. These offers are Find Me Life Insurance, Long Term Care for All, Your Disability Quote and Top 401K Plan. The sites are built and owned by us and since we manage the data we are able to provide quick feedback on the quality. These offers are available for Email, Banner and Search and all convert on the first page. Affiliate Marketers who want to tap into this market should consider the demographics previously mentioned to provide rich content and optimize your campaign strategy to be profitable.

Contact your Account Manager today to learn more about generating revenue from this high demand market!

August started out extremely busy and Affiliate Summit East was the perfect beginning to a successful month for Blue Phoenix Media! Affiliate Summit was from August 9th-11th and was in our home base New York City, allowing us to exhibit in full force. The estimated 2,500 expected to attend the show was doubled to over 4,000 attendees, making the show a success for everyone!

The show started with the Meet Market on Sunday, which included a frenzy of eager affiliates and merchants ready to do business. We had a great spot between the entrance and the escalators to the 2nd floor, so no one got through the show without seeing us first. Crowds swooned around our table to find out what Blue Phoenix Media has to offer. There was no time for a break as prospects approached us to the very end of the show. The first day went off without a hitch!

On Monday, the Exhibit Hall event had attendees slipping in long before 10am. Being in the 1st aisle of the 1st floor, again, allowed no one to lose sight of Blue Phoenix Media. Lines formed around our booth from the start, barely allowing anyone to pass through. We were equipped with a full staff from C-Level Executives to well trained Affiliate Mangers, allowing us to serve everyone’s needs at the show. The night ended with our sponsored party with Headlines & Heroes at The Bottom Line at Touch. We celebrated the show’s success in our VIP booth and jammed with Biz Markie who sang his hit ‘You Got What I Need’ inches away from us! Many of our partners came by to celebrate with us and the night closed with a bang.

Tuesday’s expected turnout was pretty decent, considering many attendees may have been curing hangovers. Lines still surrounded our booth and people eagerly waited to find out more about Blue Phoenix. We even had traveling publicity as visitors from the previous days walked around wearing our shirts! The show remained busy to the end and we left with a plethora of new business to pursue!

Thank you to all that came to meet Blue Phoenix and who showed support at our sponsored event!

We are excited that Affiliate Summit East 2009 is coming to our hometown, New York City, August 9th-11th! Of course we will be exhibiting at the event for both the Meet Market on Sunday and the Exhibition event on Monday and Tuesday. For those who don’t know, Affiliate Summit is one of the best industry affiliate marketing conferences that gives affiliates the opportunity to meet with affiliate managers and merchants in person. This is set to be one of the most anticipated networking events in our industry!

Blue Phoenix Media is known for three things. First, we are an affiliate network with over 200 advertisers and 3,000 active publishers. Our most successful verticals are Education, Health and Pharmaceuticals and Consumer Products, but we offer campaigns in over 20 verticals. Second, we have over 20 web properties that we built and own that include Education, Health, Insurance and Time Share verticals. Third, we have our own proprietary lead generation technology that we built and own and we have a Coreg platform that we can serve into registration pages to monetize websites.

We will have a staff of affiliate managers at our booth as well as our CEO Amy Sheridan and COO Malaika Schmidt, founders of Blue Phoenix Media, Inc. If you would like to set up a meeting in advance please email meetings@bluephoenixmedia.com . Otherwise please stop by Table 6 at Sunday’s Meet Market or Booth 1114 at the Exhibit Hall on Monday and Tuesday. We look forward to meeting you in person and starting a business relationship with you!

As always, expect the hottest after parties to proceed each night. We are happy to be sponsoring The Bottom Line @ Touch, 240 West 52nd Street, NY, NY! The party is Monday, August 10th from 9pm to 2am. Be sure to RSVP at http://headlinesandheroes.com/bottomline/.

Last week was a busy time for Blue Phoenix as we traveled East and West to visit multiple industry trade shows. Our CEO Amy Sheridan traveled to Florida and Colorado to partake in the Career College Association Convention and Expo in Orlando and Affiliate Convention in Denver. Our Sales team represented here in New York City by visiting DM Days at the Jacob Javits Center.

The Career College Association Convention and Expo was from June 14th-June 16th and included informative seminars, one of which featured famous newsman Ted Koppel, interesting panels and a great networking exhibition. Many key players of the Education space and plenty of partners we currently work with were there in full force. The show overall gave us something to think about and set up potential new business.

The Affilate Convention was from June 17th-June 20th and was a small but intimate conference filled with the youth of this industry. There were panel discussions and an exhibition but the highlight of the show was the fact that there were a lot of affiliates present, which made networking a breeze. There were a lot of younger affiliates in the 18-20 year old range, who were eager to learn and it help us see what the new generation of affiliate marketers have to offer. There was definitely a huge potential for new business. After the show the parties were intimate and there was also time to catch up on work as needed. It was a great city to have a show in for the future.

DM Days was from June 16th-June 18th and included informative seminars, one of which featured Ivanka Trump, and a networking exhibition. The exhibition was smaller this year but there was still potential for business. We managed to touch base with clients old and new and have some new business in the works as we speak. The Buzz Party on the 16th was a jam packed party with a few free drinks, appetizers and fellow marketers anxious to do business. We met with some great potential clients there as well and overall though a smaller show, the turnout was still a success.

Stay tuned for more trade show news when we exhibit in August for Affiliate Summit and Leads Con!!

People believe education is one of the greatest investments anybody can make2. Confronted with a shaky economy and limited job prospects, some recent and soon-to-be college graduates are prolonging their careers in higher education and attending graduate school, rather than immediately breaking into the workforce3. The increase in student enrollment has also increased the number of grants and scholarships to help offset the cost of keeping up in the job market.

If domestic students utilize the full amount of resources available to them then they can finance their education. The increase in grants combined with work study will help students pay for their tuition4. With so many people returning to school and extending their studies, MyNewDegree can not only help students get the most out of their money by providing them with information for scholarships, grants and financial aid, but also be their source in finding the educational programs best suited for their needs.
